San Diego, Calif. - June 3, 2008 - Verari Systems, a premier developer of energy efficient data center and desktop consolidation platforms utilizing independent blade-based computing and storage solutions, today announced enhanced features and additional blade support for its Connexxus desktop consolidation solution. Connexxus is ideal for data-intensive environments such as today's financial trading floors and high-end visual applications such as Picture Archive Communication Systems (PACS) used in Health Care and graphically demanding digital content creation applications used in the Entertainment and Media industry.

Connexxus now offers each user with dual high resolution (1920 x 1200) display performance transmitted using Teradici's PC-over-IPT technology. When combined with a Verari BladeRack® 2 X-Series platform, Connexxus provides the end user the advantages of a centrally supported hosted desktop with a power-efficient and secure ergonomically enhanced, rich experience.

"Eliminating the server from the desktop reduces the power requirement and saves energy immediately" said Dan Gatti, senior vice president, Marketing of Verari Systems. "Connexxus offers very secure remote access technology that breaks the distance limitations of previous blade PC implementations. In combination with BladeRack 2 and Teradici's PC-over-IP technology, this solution allows PC engines to be managed centrally in the data center while still providing the full PC experience at the desktop."

Connexxus is now available for use with the high-efficiency BladeRack 2 WS1160 and WS2260 blade servers that support the latest Quad-Core Intel® Xeon® 3200 Series processors for increased performance. The WS2260 supports high-end graphic processors for improved performance when running graphically intense applications. Additional Connexxus features include support for both fiber and copper connectivity; dual high-resolution monitors; optional mounting features and enhanced Broker Support that enables the connection of the widest range of back-end systems and clients in a secure and efficient environment.

"A data center based on a BladeRack 2 platform places multiple PC engines into a centralized blade server for more efficient desktop management, better utilization and better security," said Karen J. Holland, director, Desktop Consolidation at Verari Systems. "Connexxus offers full graphics support in dual screen displays in an OS-independent fashion that doesn't require specialist drivers. The combined result is a robust computing architecture driving a full-fidelity user experience without the heat, noise and space constraints associated with other solutions."

"Verari Systems enables IT to rapidly deliver desktops from a centralized location, but it is not a 'one flavor fits all' workforce," said Mark Bowker, analyst, the Enterprise Strategy Group. "Power users and demanding workloads require a one to one relationship. Instead of many thin clients executing on a single server, each blade PC has a direct connection to a remote access station. Users have full access to the PC engine, rather than having to share resources. Adding virtualization support for each blade enables two, four or six users depending on their job function to operate from a single blade, providing improved performance and cost efficiencies."
