Field Sales Engineer
Verari Systems, Inc. is the premier developer of powerful, flexible, and scalable platform-independent blade computing systems that are defining a new era in high performance utility computing for the enterprise data center is seeking a full time Field Sales Engineer.
Skills and Requirements
The Field Sales Engineer will provide pre-sales and post sales technical support of customer sales for the full range of Verari Systems, Products, & Services. Applicant will also assist customer in using Verari Systems technology. The applicant must have a track record of providing technical support on x86 server products and NAS-SAN storage products, with a basic understanding of Data Center power and cooling. Candidate must also possess a working knowledge of TCP/IP networking along with familiarity of Cisco and HP Procurve network switches. Working knowledge of Linux, Windows Server, KVM/IP and IMPI is required. VMware experience is a bonus.
• Assist sales team, from a technical perspective, in identifying and qualifying sales opportunities that are likely prospects for the products and services provided by the company
• Develop, nurture and maintain trusted relationships with engineering managers and executives at named strategic, key and focus customers (including prospective customers) located within the assigned territory.
• Develop, nurture and maintain solid, congenial, collaborative, productive working relationships with key internal stake holders including members of the company’s sales, engineering, planning, product management and marketing organizations.
• Ability to articulate complex engineering decisions to convince potential buyers of the practical value of the product or service
• Confidently and comfortably present technical solutions to key customer personnel responding “real time” to customer technical concerns and questions in a knowledgeable, professional manner that reflects a comprehensive understanding of our products as well as related industry technologies, applications and platforms.
• Develop supportive world class written proposals and associated presentation materials.
• Achieve specified annual sales goals.
• Operate with the highest level of integrity both externally and internally.
• A comprehensive understanding of the markets served and the technologies offered by the company.
• An ability and willingness to travel, sometimes on short notice.
• An ability and willingness to function in the position as required by the needs of the business during extended hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Experience and Requirements
A minimum of three to five years field engineering experience supporting grid compute, Web 2.0 and cloud storage prospects or large scale datacenter management is highly desirable. Large, complex systems sales experience developed while employed with a major systems manufacturer is a positive.
Excellent written and oral communications skills are required. Expert Presentation skills are a must.
References and a demonstrable record of success must be provided.
Travel will be required a minimum of 25% of the time.
